Terms of Use

About these terms

Last updated: October 16th, 2026.

These Terms of Use apply when you use www.ansuath.com and when you book a treatment with An Suath. An Suath is a women-only mobile massage service run by Jennifer Brown, a sole trader based in Glasgow. By using this website or making a booking, you agree to these terms. Please read them together with the Privacy Policy, which explains how your personal information is used.

Important: All physical treatments are subject to an in-person medical intake and signed consent form prior to treatment.

1. Using this website

  • You may use this website for your own personal use: to find out about An Suath and to book treatments.
  • You must not misuse the website, for example by trying to gain unauthorised access to it, introducing viruses or harmful code, or using it to send unwanted messages.
  • The text, photos, logos and designs on this website belong to Jennifer Brown or are used under licence. You may share links and print pages for your own use, but you must not copy or reuse the content in any other way without written permission.
  • Jennifer may change, suspend or withdraw the website, or any part of it, at any time, and can’t promise it will always be available or free from errors.
  • Links to other websites are provided for convenience only. Jennifer has no control over those websites and isn’t responsible for their content.

2. Website content is not medical advice

  • Everything on this website, including the service pages, FAQs, articles and aftercare tips, is general information only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it doesn’t replace advice from your GP, midwife, obstetrician or another healthcare professional.
  • Massage is not a substitute for medical care. Never ignore professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you have read on this website.
  • Jennifer takes care to keep the website accurate and up to date, but details can change. The price, treatment and time shown at checkout when you book are the ones that apply to your booking.

3. Who can book

  • An Suath is a women-only service, and you must be 18 or over to book.
  • Treatments are offered within the areas listed on the Service Area page. Bookings outside those areas are at Jennifer’s discretion.
  • If you book for someone else, you confirm that she has agreed to the booking and to these terms, and that she will answer the health questions and sign the consent form herself.

Bookings and your health

4. Making a booking

  • Bookings are made through the online booking calendar and need at least 24 hours’ notice.
  • When you book, you answer a few short health questions on the booking form and pay the full price by card through the secure Wix checkout.
  • Your booking is confirmed when payment is complete and you receive a confirmation email. A contract between you and Jennifer Brown is formed at that point.
  • Every booking is subject to the health checks in sections 6 and 7. If it turns out before your visit that the treatment isn’t suitable or safe for you, Jennifer may cancel the booking and you’ll receive a full refund.
  • Prices include travel within the service area. There is no call-out fee.

5. Cancelling or changing a booking

  • You can cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 48 hours before your appointment, using the link in your confirmation email or by emailing info@ansuath.com.
  • Cancellations or changes made less than 48 hours before your appointment can’t be refunded, because the time can rarely be rebooked at short notice.
  • If you have to cancel late for a pregnancy or birth-related medical reason (for example, your midwife advises against massage or your baby arrives early), please get in touch. Jennifer will offer you a new time wherever possible.
  • If no one is at the address at the booked time, Jennifer can’t get in, or there is no safe space to set up, the appointment counts as a late cancellation. If you’re running late, the treatment may need to be shortened, and the full price still applies.
  • If Jennifer has to cancel (for example because of illness, an emergency or severe travel disruption), you’ll be offered a new time or a full refund, whichever you prefer.
  • Nothing in this section affects your legal rights as a consumer.

6. Your health: medical intake, consent and disclosure

  • All physical treatments are subject to an in-person medical intake and signed consent form prior to treatment. Jennifer will phone you before your visit, and at the start of your appointment Jennifer will go through an in-person medical intake with you. You’ll then be asked to sign a consent form. If the intake isn’t completed or the form isn’t signed, the treatment can’t go ahead.
  • Your duty to disclose: you must give full, accurate and up-to-date information about your health on the booking form, during the phone call and at the intake. This includes any medical conditions, injuries, recent surgery, medication, allergies and skin sensitivities.
  • Changes to your health: if anything changes between booking and your appointment, or between appointments, tell Jennifer before your next treatment.
  • Jennifer can only adapt a treatment safely to the information you give. Jennifer is not responsible for harm caused by information you withheld or that was inaccurate.
  • Jennifer’s right to decline or stop: Jennifer may decline, adapt, postpone or stop a treatment at any time if it may not be safe or suitable for you, for example if you seem unwell or have a fever or infection. If a treatment can’t go ahead for a health reason, you’ll be offered a new time or a refund, unless the reason is something you knew about but didn’t disclose before the visit.

7. Pregnancy and postpartum clients

  • Consult your healthcare provider first: if you are pregnant or have recently given birth, you are responsible for consulting your GP, midwife or obstetrician before you book and before you receive a massage.
  • Written consent: before your first pregnancy massage, you need written consent from your GP or midwife, ready by the time of your visit. If your pregnancy is complex, Jennifer may ask for it again later. Without it the treatment can’t go ahead, and Jennifer will offer you a new time.
  • Timing: pregnancy massage is offered from the second trimester. When postpartum massage can start depends on your birth and recovery, as explained on the Postpartum Massage page.

High-risk conditions you must disclose. Before any treatment, you must tell Jennifer if you have, or have had, any of the following in this pregnancy or a previous one:

  • pre-eclampsia or high blood pressure
  • gestational diabetes
  • deep vein thrombosis (DVT), blood clots or a clotting disorder
  • placenta previa or other problems with the placenta
  • bleeding, fluid leakage, or signs or a history of premature labour
  • a twin or multiple pregnancy
  • severe swelling, headaches or changes to your vision
  • after the birth: a caesarean, heavy bleeding, infection or a wound that is still healing
  • any other complication your healthcare provider has told you about

When to seek medical help instead: if you have bleeding, severe pain or headaches, sudden swelling, or your baby is moving less than usual, contact your midwife or maternity unit straight away rather than having a massage.

Risks, liability and legal terms

8. Understanding the risks

  • Massage is generally safe, but like any hands-on treatment it carries some inherent risks. These include temporary muscle soreness or tenderness, tiredness, light-headedness, bruising and skin reactions to oils or other products.
  • By booking and signing the consent form, you confirm that you understand these risks and choose to have the treatment voluntarily.
  • Tell Jennifer straight away if you feel pain, discomfort, dizziness or anything unusual. You can ask Jennifer to adjust the pressure, pause or stop at any time.
  • Massage is not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any medical condition.

9. Liability

  • Jennifer provides every treatment with reasonable care and skill, in line with Jennifer’s training and professional standards, and is fully insured with Holistic Insurance Services.
  • Provided a treatment has been given with reasonable care and skill, Jennifer is not liable for reactions that are a known risk of massage (see section 8), for harm caused by health information that was withheld or inaccurate, or for harm caused by not following Jennifer’s instructions or aftercare advice.
  • Jennifer is not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for any business losses, as treatments are provided for your personal use only.
  • Jennifer is not liable for any loss caused by using, or being unable to use, this website, or by relying on its content, except where the law doesn’t allow this to be excluded.
  • Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t be excluded or limited by law. Your statutory rights are not affected.

10. Your home and Jennifer’s safety

  • Please provide a clean, quiet room with a clear space of around 2 by 2.5 metres or more, somewhere to wash hands, and pets kept in another room. Let Jennifer know in advance about stairs, parking or buzzer entry.
  • You’re welcome to have a partner, friend or family member present. Just mention it when you book.
  • Every treatment is strictly professional and therapeutic. Jennifer may refuse or end an appointment, without a refund, in the event of inappropriate or threatening behaviour, requests of a sexual nature, anyone present being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or anything else that makes the visit unsafe.

11. Changes to these terms

Jennifer may update these terms from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date. The terms shown on this page when you make a booking apply to that booking.

12. Complaints and governing law

  • If you’re unhappy with any part of your experience, email info@ansuath.com and Jennifer will try to put things right quickly.
  • These terms are governed by Scots law, and the Scottish courts can deal with any dispute. If you live in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
