Postpartum Massage, Brought Home to You
Your body carried a pregnancy and delivered a baby. Let it be cared for in return — with a gentle massage from Jennifer in the comfort of your own home, no childcare or travel required.
What is Postpartum Massage
Postpartum Massage (also called postnatal massage) is a gentle, full-body treatment designed for the weeks and months after childbirth. It eases tension in the back, shoulders, hips and legs, supports circulation, and helps your body recover from the physical demands of pregnancy and birth — all in the calm of your own home.
Unlike a standard relaxation massage, every stroke is adapted to where your body actually is right now: softer over sensitive areas, more targeted where feeding and carrying a newborn have created tension, and paced to fit around nap times rather than a fixed studio slot.

When can I start postpartum massage after giving birth?
Most postpartum massage therapists recommend waiting until you've had your postnatal check and been cleared by your GP or midwife — generally from around five to six weeks after a vaginal birth, and longer following a caesarean birth. Jennifer will phone you before your visit to talk through your birth and agree the right timing for you.
Is postpartum massage safe after a caesarean section?
Yes — with the right timing and technique. Jennifer takes extra care around your incision site and will only work on healed, fully closed scars. If you've had a caesarean birth, please wait until your GP or midwife has cleared you at your postnatal check and your scar has fully healed before your first session, and mention the caesarean when you book.
What are the benefits of Postpartum Massage?
-
Eases tension in the neck, shoulders and upper back — the areas hit hardest by feeding and carrying a newborn
-
Supports circulation and lymphatic drainage, helping with post-birth swelling
-
Softens tension in the lower back and hips from pregnancy and delivery
-
Promotes better sleep, even in short bursts
-
Eases anxiety and low mood through calm, nurturing touch
-
Gives you permission to rest — often the hardest part of the fourth trimester
Can I have a massage while breastfeeding?
Yes. Breastfeeding is not a barrier to postpartum massage. Jennifer will position you comfortably and can pause or adjust at any point — including if you need to feed during your session.
What happens during a mobile Postpartum Massage appointment?
Jennifer arrives at your home with a portable table and sets up quietly in a room of your choice. You'll already have talked through your birth on the phone, so before starting she simply checks how you're feeling today and where you're holding tension. There's no need to arrange childcare, get dressed up, or travel anywhere with a newborn — the session comes to you.

Safety & Suitability
Postpartum massage is generally suitable once you've had your postnatal check and been cleared by your GP or midwife. After a caesarean birth, Jennifer will only work once your scar has fully healed and will avoid the incision area. If you had complications during pregnancy or birth, such as heavy bleeding, an infection, high blood pressure or a blood clot, please mention it when you book and check with your GP or midwife first. You can ask Jennifer to adjust the pressure, pause or stop at any point.
Frequently Asked Questions
How soon after birth can I book?
Once you've had your postnatal check and been cleared by your GP or midwife, which is usually around five to six weeks after a vaginal birth. After a caesarean, or if you had stitches or a more complicated birth, it's usually a little longer, as your scar and any healing need to be complete first. Jennifer will phone you before your visit to talk through your birth and agree the right timing for you.
Do I need to prepare anything before my appointment?
Just a comfortable, private space of around 2 by 2.5 metres or more where Jennifer can set up the table. Everything else — table, linens, oils — is brought to you.
Will postpartum massage help with breastfeeding-related back and neck pain?
Yes — tension in the upper back, neck and shoulders from feeding positions and carrying a newborn is one of the most common areas Jennifer focuses on.
Do I need to provide anything?
No — Jennifer brings the massage table, linens, and oils. You'll just need a warm, quiet room with enough space to set up, and access to a plug socket if music is requested.
How far in advance should I book?
At least 24 hours in advance. Bookings are confirmed instantly through the online calendar.
What areas do you cover?
